Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE) prepared the required Detailed Project Report (DPR) in Feb – 06.

The entire requirement of the debt for the project is tied up with Rural Electrification Corporation (REC)). The loan agreement is signed with REC (financial closure) on January 24, 2008.

Clearances from MoEF, GPCB, GMB and AAI are already received.

EPC Contract signed with BHEL on February 08, 2008. The advance payment of about Rs. 220 Crores is made to the EPC Contractor (BHEL) on March 29, 2008.

The land was acquired in Oct-1993 by GPCL but physical possession of the land was not taken by GPCL. GPPC has negotiated and agreed to pay the mutually agreeable price. Necessary mutual consent agreements were filed in the court of law and recently court has delivered the judgments for 52 cases out of 55 court cases and GPPC has already deposited Rs. 4,50,48,231/- (4.5 Crores) in the court during September – 2007.

The Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Narendrabhai Modi has laid “Foundation Stone” for this project on October 8, 2007. The Hon. Minister for Planning (Independent charge), Energy and Petrochemicals Mr. Saurabhbhai Patel was the “Guest of Honor” for the ceremony.

Relying on the past experience of successful implementation of the GSEG project, GSPC group is now confident of implementing this project in the most professional manner and thereby controlling cost and time implications.
